List of KickStart Courses

We have a list of KickStart weekend courses where you will be taught about everything you need to start working on a technology. This will be hands on training. However, note that this is only a kickstart course and you will be provided with enough materials to continue your learning. We will provide you support too for continuing your learning. There may be also follow up meetings to cover future doubts.

Core Java, Multithreading and Eclipse

Duration: 1 day

Course Description

We will try to understand the object oriented concepts and basic constructs of Java such as class, interface, abstract class, methods, variables, blocks. You will also be introduced to the Eclipse IDE which is the most used IDE in actual development environments.

Multithreading is an important area in core Java. We will try to understand how it is done in Java traditionally using Thread, Runnable, wait, notify and notifyall, and then see how the new concurrency package can help you in achieving the same behavior easily and less error prone.

 

Java EE Kickstart with JSP, Servlets and Tomcat

Duration: 1 day

Course Description

Here, we will try to understand the basics of JSPs, Servlets and how they can be deployed into a web container like Apache Tomcat. We will also see the differences between HTTP Server, web container and Application Server.

 

Webservices

Duration: 1 day

Course Description

There are two kinds of webservices: SOAP and REST. We will try to understand SOAP webservices which are the difficult ones of the two. You will be provided with pointers on learning REST web services.

 

Frameworks Introduction with Spring and Hibernate

Duration: 1 day

Course Description

You will be introduced to Spring Framework and Dependency injection. Spring is a very popular framework used for developing applications either for core as well as for web applications.  In real world, most projects will require some form of dependency injection framework like Spring.

You will also be introduced to Object Relational Mapping (ORM) and Hibernate framework, which basically help you in connecting to database and updating data.
